Before you start, you’ll need: an active KiwiBooks subscription, and an AI assistant that supports connectors (such as Claude Code or Codex). If you already chat with one of these, you’re ready.

Connect in 3 steps

A one-time setup — about two minutes.

STEP 1

Get your connection key from KiwiBooks

Sign in to KiwiBooks and open Settings → AI Agent. Type a name you’ll recognise (like “My laptop”) and click Generate token.

You’ll see a long code starting with kb_agent_. Copy it now and keep it somewhere safe — for your security it’s only shown once. Think of it like a password.

STEP 2

Give the key to your assistant

KiwiBooks shows you a ready-made command on that same screen. Copy it, paste it into your AI assistant, and run it. It looks like this (your key goes where the example code is):

That’s the only technical step — it simply tells your assistant how to reach your KiwiBooks account.

STEP 3

Just start talking

That’s it — you’re connected. Now ask your assistant about your books in everyday language, the same way you’d ask a bookkeeper. See the examples below for ideas.
